...So Thursday night, another Open Mic night at the Earl Clarendon, hosted by The Last Minute, this time Viv decided that we (Viv, Alan, John and me) should really do some songs. We practised a few last Saturday morning, then performed three of them last night. Here is the recording made by Paul Duffy of us [playlist id=5 width=400 height=180] We also played  a song written by Alan and Viv, followed by Garbage's "I'm Only Happy When it Rains" - dodgy version!

Well, maybe sometime, who knows... Here I am joining in with Chain of Fools at their Newbold Comyn Arms gig last Saturday. What great fun! Thanks go to the band for letting me have a go and also to Paul Duffy for bringing round his camcorder footage!

Jenna and her cohort went to Abbey Hill URC Church on Sunday to play from their Handbell repertoire at their special nearly-Christmas service. I heard this driving home on Saturday night from a Freds Folks gig, at about 1am on the Bob Harris Radio 2 program. It's an inspiring mix of a completely unexpected nature! [MEDIA=32] I loved the way that even though all the chords are wrong, it still works! Just forget about the proper chords and accept a new tune!

  Yesterday evening we went to Kenilworth Castle at 6-ish for the KDPSA Country Dancing Festival. KDPSA is the Kenilworth District Primary Schools Association I believe.

It was at Kenilworth School. Not quite the atmosphere or ambiance of All Saints Church last week (see previous post), but great nonetheless! She didn't know what they were going to play until Ray announced it, then started it!
